  1. Multi-accounting: Multi-accounting is the process of owning more than one account. On Cursed Domains (CD) we do allow players to access more than one account (up to 2), but players must register their account as a sub-account. A failure to do this will result in account loss and possible ban. The reason for this is to ensure community transparency, players have the right to know that they have a pre-existing relationship with you (be it good or bad) and be able to make an informed decision based off their previous experiences with you. In addition, there are specific restrictions regarding your character in moderated situations. [Refer to sub-accounts for more information]
  2. Respect for each other: Please be respectful of each other. Harassment of users and/or staff will not be tolerated. We have a system for "do not contact" requests which the staff will enforce. A Do Not Contact (DNC) request is expected to be honored by both the person that requested the DNC as well as the person that has been asked to no longer contact the user. [Refer to DNC Requests for more information]
  3. Racism: As per our site rating, we do not allow racist terminology. However, this rule extends this to racism, religious discrimination, and harassment regarding one's sexual orientation on our discord and/or any parts of our associated community. [Refer to Site Rating for more information]
  4. Foreign language use: The use of foreign language or cryptograms are accepted on this website, we only request a clear translation someplace on the post.
  5. Double Posting: Do not double post in out of character areas. Every user has access to the edit feature to edit the content of their posts if they have realized that they wish to add something. Please use this. Exceptions include:
    • If you are writing a solo thread (such as a diary, a home thread where you are using a single thread for all of these posts for example), then double (or more) posting is acceptable.
    • If a thread has become "inactive" (defined as 1 week without a post) you can double-post your departure from the thread.
  6. Post Order: While it is recommended that users adhere to post order, we will not enforce adhering to a post order in threads.
    • An example of post order would be between Player 1 [Sue] who posted first in a thread, followed by Player 2 [Brian]. They would post back and forth until Kate joins the thread after Sue's most recent post. Now the thread would rotate between the three of them in order: Sue > Kate > Brian > Sue > Kate > Brian > Sue. This is easy to do in small groups but in larger threads, this is generally not considered possible to do in a timely manner.
  7. Metagaming: Metagaming is the process of giving and acting on information that your character does not have access to. You don't necessarily ''know'' everything that is written in your partner post. Most users write in the third person, so there is a lot of narration that can be known by you the writer or reader, but not your character. Your partner might think about how they feel, but thoughts are in their head and you are not able to read their mind. They might refer to another event that your character knows nothing about in their narration, but unless it is spoken out loud or otherwise in-character shared with you, you would not know this information.
  8. God-modding: God-modding is the act of controlling a character decides your own, dictating their thoughts, actions or successes/failures. The only character you are able to control is yours. Remember that your partner might have chosen another action other than the one you expect him/her to take. If you really want to do something specific that would affect your partner, send them a message before doing so and obtain their consent. The only time a character's actions, successes or failures might be outside of their control is in moderated scenarios such as missions, events, or moderated combat.
  9. Character Ownership: Former and Banned Players Still Own their Characters. While a user might have vacated the community by choice or due to forcible removal (ban), they still own their character. Controlling their character's fate (even if you have consent because we have no reasonable means to verify) is still considered God-modding (see above #8). If you plan to leave the community, please simply provide a story ending for your character so that players can reconcile what happened to you.
  10. Cheating: Please do not game the systems we have and try to play with the spirit of the game in mind when you RP or make posts. This would be trying to out of character tricks or manipulate users, altering the out of character ability of others to perceive a topic, the information exchanged there within or somehow altering the content of a post. Do not falsify rolls, submit fake complaints against another user or falsify screenshots with photo editing software. At kindest, this would be cheating
  11. Posing as Staff: Do not do this, we will find out and we will ban you.
  12. Everything done on your account is your responsibility: Keep your password and account secure. If someone "breaks into your account", we will hold you responsible for the actions performed on your account.
