Where to Get Started?

This is a new-user guide that explains where users should start.

  1. Review the site rules and expectations.
  2. Join our Discord. Please make sure that you sign-up in the Signing-up for Discord Thread so that you can leave our lobby.
  3. Introduce yourself in our Discord.
  4. Introduce yourself in our forum. There is an optional template provided.
  5. Create a Character in this forum. The form is simple and can be found here.
  6. Set up your account preferences. Information about account preferences as well as a basic overview can be found here.
  7. Request a Rank Banner once your character has been approved.
  8. Create a Profile Page once your character has been approved.
  9. Once your Character Profile Page has been created review the Looking for RP Partner thread to see if someone is looking for a roleplay partner that you can accomodate or post one of your own.
  10. Consider making a Dorm Thread or an Apartment Thread describing your character's personal, private living quarters. There is an optional Homestead System.

Starting to Roleplay

As a new player, you are not restricted to a single forum. For example, you do not need to make your first post in the Dormitories. Players will often engage in a meet and greet thread as their first thread so that they can meet other players. A few example ideas of where to start your first roleplay thread include:
For Sorcerers:
  • Dormitories - you are just moving in. A hook such as having a hard time with the weight of your bags, your bag breaking, having some real weird or embarrassing stuff with you can serve as easy ice-breakers to attract other roleplayers.
  • Tea Garden - this area represents a large portion of the outdoor grounds in jujutsu high. This can be you simply exploring the grounds, seeing them for the first time or enjoying nature. A hook of some sort is often helpful in increasing engagement such as freaking out over a bee or perhaps spying on someone else's (NPC or a creative player) personal drama.
  • Zazen Dojo or the Panic Grounds - just jump straight to the action and training arc. Show off how 'strong' your character is or perhaps leave an opening for a rival.
For Soul Reapers:
  • Soul Society or Senkaimon Gate - show people where you came from.
  • Apartments - you are just moving in. A hook such as having a hard time with the weight of your bags, your bag breaking, having some real weird or embarrassing stuff with you can serve as easy ice-breakers to attract other roleplayers.
  • Central Meeting Hall - perhaps you were picking up an assignment, looking to meet with an NPC that was not there and now end up meeting someone else.
  • The Fen or The Pit - just jump straight to the action and training arc. Show off how 'strong' your character is or perhaps leave an opening for a rival.
Other Options that Work well for either:
  • Tokyo Metro - the train ride or arrival at the train station in Tokyo. Perhaps you meet someone on the way.
  • Places Beyond - talk about your home or perhaps an assignment that took you out of Tokyo, more likely a solo thread if your first in this case but this can work very well if you have a backstory that involved another player from the start.
