Discord is a free communications app that lets you share voice, video, and text chat with friends, game communities, and developers. It has hundreds of millions of users, making it one of the most popular ways to connect with people online. Discord can be used on almost every popular platform and device, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and via web browsers. This serves as a social hub for this community.

You can join our discord by clicking on the discord icon in the upper right hand corner of this (or any) page.

Or by clicking the following link.

This will place you in a waiting room and you will be given full server access once you have verified your account. Account verification is a simple process, you will be prompted to place a post in the Signing-up for Discord thread stating your discord name. This is done so that we can identify who you are as a security measure. In the past users have posed as other users on Discord causing a disruption as well as various misunderstandings that we wish to avoid.

Discord Rules

  1. No flaming, flame baiting, roasting, or trolling.
    • Flaming: scolding/insulting a player in public.
    • Flame Baiting: posting to elicit flaming or discussions at the expense of another player.
    • Roasting: publicly humiliating someone in a way that appears humorous/joking. "Not knowing someone is going to take something a certain way" is not an excuse because you "thought they would take your harassing behaviour as a joke." It is your responsibility (and risk) to roughly/cruelly joke with your peer(s). Be certain that they will find that sort of humour funny before you engage.
    • Trolling: someone who purposely argues/upsets others to create friction through inflammatory, off-topic, and purposely tangential discussion for one's amusement or other gain.
  2. Maintain privacy.
    • Don't share personal information about other users. It's not yours to share. If they want to, they will share it. Telling other people about others' personal details is not necessary. This is sometimes referred to as Doxing.
  3. Respect Boundaries.
    • If a user does not want to be shipped, called a nickname, etc., you STOP. If you continue, you are trolling them.
    • Do not play middle-man for banned or muted users. If you post on site rants for them, it is you that is posting them.
    • Do not play middle man between two users with a DNC. If a user has blocked another user, do not play messenger pigeon and communicate to them. While nobody is going to ban you over this, it is a bad practice and will likely result in you getting a DNC placed on you (see DNC)
  4. No racist or special interest group insults. And yes, this means no jokes about them even if you find them funny.
  5. Our Discord is considered to be safe for work. Don't show nude pictures, various drug memes, or things that if someone's boss would look at the channel they would be in trouble. Please use common sense.
  6. Your Discord nickname for our server must be recognisable and associated with your player name. Example: A player has the username Johnathan Morris, their Discord nickname should be either their character name Johnathan Morris or their given name plus whatever they want (within reason) such as Johnathan the Great or Memeking Jonathan.
  7. Your Discord Custom Status needs to be appropriate to the site and in line with the rules.
  8. Do not spam the regular channels. The spam channel is available for spamming.
  9. Please don't tag people or groups for the sake of doing so. It can be intrusive to those players and their real lives. If you must tag them, ensure that they are online and they are okay with the tag first. If you have something very specific that cannot be missed by them that cannot be DM'd for whatever reason, then please use the tag function, as that is what it is for. Otherwise, it is a rude activity.
  10. If you write in another language, provide an accurate translation. As mentioned in rule 2, we have people who identify from various groups, cultures, and communities, and we seek to be inclusive of all differences but it is also rude to exclude players that do not speak that language from joining the conversation
  11. Do not claim other people's work as your own (i.e. music, art, pictures, writings etc). This includes copying people's work with minor edits or line tracing and then claiming it as your own.
  12. Edits are common on the internet, your editing is also worthy of credit but so is the original artist. We do not expect a works cited or a reference page, but we do expect you to at least state that it is an edit.
  13. Do not edit another community members' work without their permission. We will fact check any permission you claim to have gotten and may ask for a papertrail. Verbal consent does not count, and if it is your word against theirs and you cannot supply proof we will assume that you did not have permission and that you lied.
  14. Your account is your responsibility. This means that if someone takes over your account and does something inappropriate on it, you will be held liable for this. This also means that you will be held responsible for the content of the information you send, so if you post an inappropriate picture, or a video that is not site appropriate, you will be held responsible for it. "I did not notice" or "I did not read the entire link" or "see the whole thing" is not an excuse. So think about what you post.
  15. You cannot pretend to be other users, even if you have their permission.
  16. We are solicitation free in this community. Do not advertise for other websites or Discords in our Discord.

Basic Guidelines for Human Interaction on Discord

These are not rules, but rather guidelines that will enhance your experience, help you keep the peace and perhaps also improve your interpersonal relationships with others,

  1. Protect your personal identity. This means do not share your personal information like your phone number, address, physical location, etc. We won't remove you or the information you posted from the server for oversharing but depending on what you shared about yourself, you might put yourself at risk.
  2. Do not share another user's personal information. This can get you booted from the server, especially if it was purposeful or malicious. There is certainly a difference in saying "they are 15" and it slipping out and sharing personal information about them that they have not shared themselves, like that they are transgender, gay, have a chronic illness, etc. or commonly protected information like their address or social media accounts. While most instances are non-malicious and will not result in staff action, this is a reminder to remain cognizant about what you share.
  3. Be mindful of new players - while you are comfortable in this server, they are not. Please do not barrage a new member with chants such as "fresh meat", it can be intimidating. Please be welcoming.
  4. As we are an international and multicultural community, you will encounter worldviews and perspectives that do not align with your own. While we do not have rules against engaging in conversations such as politics, religion, etc., the staff reserves the right to intervene if any conversation escalates into conflict. If someone, anyone, asks for a topic change, either move your conversation elsewhere (such as DMs) or drop it entirely. Please do not defend why a subject needs to continue if it is making someone uncomfortable.
  5. There is a system for "Do Not Contact Requests". This is basically a letter that is sent to another member of this server notifying them that you do not want to be contacted any longer on site (and presumably off site). That user is barred from contacting you via tags or private messages on site and discord and you are not allowed to tag or private message them. They are not allowed to enter threads that you are in and you are expected to not enter threads that they are already in, the exception(s) being events and possibly missions. It is expected that you not reference the other in the mission or event thread. This can be placed on another user for any reason and having a DNC on you does not necessarily mean that you are the aggressor, just that a boundary was placed and it is expected to be maintained. On discord this means - do not reply to one another. Do not talk about one another. Simply, leave one another alone (see DNC)
